Volunteers needed for Executive Committees and for Nominations and Elections Committee

Sierra Club

Explore, enjoy and protect the planet

We also need people to serve on next year’s Nominations and Elections Committee to recruit candidates and coordinate the elections for next year’s ExComms. To serve on the Nominations and Elections Committee, you don’t need to be an insider, but it helps to be organized and a self-starter. It’s a great chance to get to know lots of wonderful Sierra Club leaders and potential new ones! Tasks begin in April and last through vote-counting. They include:

• recruiting candidates for the Chapter ExComm;
• encouraging local groups to recruit diverse and qualified candidates;
• preparing the Chapter election supplement;
• increasing member participation in the election.

To volunteer for any of these roles, send an e-mail (including the role you are interested in) to or call Don Forman at (510)848-0800, ext. 305.

  1. Jimmy Kelly says:

    The Fracking Fiasco in Sacramento demonstrates we need to be more active on elections and that we need to be a constant watchdog of politicians. I have volunteered to vet candidates locally.
    It is important that we hold legislators accountable for their wrong vote and let voters know who support us and who did not.
