For the first time in over 70 years, we have a historic opportunity to expand Yosemite National Park.
A bipartisan bill has been introduced to add over 1,500 acres of threatened lands to Yosemite National Park, where it will be permanently protected from future destructive development.
But now, we need Sen. Dianne Feinstein to help push this forward by introducing a companion bill that will make this dream a reality!
Yosemite is a vast wilderness area of deep valleys, grand meadows, and ancient giant sequoias. Many of its iconic places are known by name alone–Half Dome, El Capitan, Tuolumne Meadows, and the Merced River.
By adding over 1,500 acres to Yosemite’s western boundary, we can head off encroaching development, which could mar the serenity and beauty that makes Yosemite one of the most beloved wild places in the world. We would also be safeguarding the area’s world-renowned backcountry recreation.
Without a doubt, this is history in the making–but we need your help to make it happen!
Yosemite is a national treasure and an unforgettable place. It set the precedent for proper stewardship and conservation throughout the United States, and indeed the world. For this reason, the Yosemite Expansion Act takes on special importance.
Thanks for all you do for our wild places,
