San Francisco Dinner — “A Tale of Two City Butterflies” with Liam O’Brien–Thursday, September 20

Thursday, September 20, social hour–6 pm, dinner–7:00, program–8:00, City Forest Lodge, 254 Laguna Honda Boulevard, San Francisco. Take Muni K, L, M, or 43. Come early for street parking, or park next door at the Forest Hill Christian Church lot for $1.50 per car, payable at the Lodge check-in.

Liam O’Brien’s life changed forever in the spring of 1996. The professional stage actor had just returned to San Francisco after two years on Broadway in Les Miserables, when a western tiger swallowtail flew into his yard. He bought a butterfly field guide, joined the Lepidopterists’ Society, and began gaining national recognition for his outstanding art work. In 2007 Liam stepped into the world of butterfly conservation, and is active in the protection of endangered butterflies on San Bruno Mountain and Twin Peaks. Join us for a stunning presentation on the western-tiger-swallowtail and mission-blue butterflies and their adaptation in a changing urban habitat. (Liam will also lead a butterfly hike on Sat., Aug. 18.)
