The Merced River Wild and Scenic Management Plan is open for preliminary alternatives comments until Fri., April 20. This plan will guide land uses such as restoration, transportation, camping, parking, lodging, employee housing, and other administrative uses for the next 20 years. A key issue is user capacity and the overcrowding of the Yosemite Valley on summer weekends and holidays.

Support:
- removing as many human-made structures as possible from the River Corridor to restore its natural and wild and scenic character;
- adequate measures to protect the park from gridlock, congestion, and overcrowding in the Valley during the summer.
