San Francisco Dinner– “Brazil: From the Amazon to Ipanema” with Bob Loew–Thursday, May 17

Thursday, May 17, social hour–6 pm, dinner–7:00, program–8:00, City Forest Lodge, 254 Laguna Honda Boulevard, San Francisco. Take Muni K, L, M, or 43. Come early for street parking, or park next door at the Forest Hill Christian Church lot for $1.50 per car, payable at the Lodge check-in.

Bob Loew has lived, worked, and traveled extensively in Latin America over the past four decades. He will take us on a stunning tour of the amazing diversity of the region’s largest country, Brazil. Stops will include the Amazon rain forest, the bustling metropolis of Sao Paulo, the massive falls at Iguazu, the widespread plains of the Pantanal, the beaches of Rio, and the exuberance of Carnaval.

Bob served three terms in the Peace Corps, in Colombia, Peru, and Sri Lanka. He has an engineering degree from UC Berkeley and worked in heavy construction on NorCal projects, including the Oroville Dam. After receiving an MBA from Stanford, Bob worked as a management consultant for various international firms with operations in Latin America. Bob currently teaches math at a public high school in the East Bay.
